Iowa doesn’t matter, a gothic SOTU, Trump’s illegitimacy & presidential revenge!

ICYMI: Weekend reads.

The president’s revenge would seem to have begun last night when security marched Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman out of the White House. As I wrote Friday, however, Donald Trump’s payback for being impeached and tried began in November.

That’s when three Senate panels asked the Treasury Department for highly sensitive financial documents regarding the Ukrainian business dealings of Hunter Biden. Within weeks, the IRS sent Senate Republicans leaders everything they wanted.

This is quite different from the response to House Democratic requests for the president’s tax returns. Lawful subpoenas have been tied up in court for months. The administration is sandbagging Trump’s enemies and arming his allies in the Senate.
