He’s been doing a great job presiding over impeachment hearings in the House of Representatives. But he’s done something else—provided drama with powerful political substance.

Just as Marie Yovanovich was recounting the experience of being bullied by the administration, the president tweeted remarks that were, well, bullying. Schiff capitalized on Trump’s impulse to create the most memorable moment yet.

This is brilliant on so many levels but it’s also good, as in virtuous.

That matters.
