Journalists can pay attention only to one thing at a time. This means news events can seem unrelated. For this reason, I spent every day this week connecting as many dots as I could between the president’s impeachment and the military assassination of Iran’s top general. Knowing what we know about Donald Trump, I figured impeachment was probably the reason for his decision. Well, it turns out, I was right. The Wall Street Journal said as much nearly 30 paragraphs into a 2,200-word story.
