I’m usually writing the day’s edition at this time of the day, but I couldn’t help sharing this footage from last night in Portland. The president appears to believe images like these make him look good to a slice of America desirous of a king-president. The backlash is already mounting, it’s already fierce and it will not stop until footage like this never happens again. I don’t think Donald Trump or his confederates get it.

    Every single office seeker, irrespective the level of government, must address this in their campaigning. I will be asking every single one… and draw out a public record. This CANNOT stand and we still remain the country I thought I belonged to.

    Trump and crew think they are emulating Nixon when in reality, they are the incumbent responsible for the chaos he is supposedly stopping. No this authoritarian clown crew doesn’t get it.
